Hello folks! This is the blog where Krista and I will try to record some of our adventures and experiences as we travel in Colombia. Check back here for pictures and reflections as we explore a new country! To say a little bit about the title of the blog, un viaje para aprender is Spanish for "a journey to learn." We hope to do all kinds of learning over our six weeks in Colombia, including learning about language, culture, history, politics, food, dance and indigenous influences on current Colombian society. We'll certainly also learn some things that we weren't expecting to learn, both challenging and exciting. We have a number of goals for this trip, but learning is definitely paramount. And we'll do our best to document some of the things that we've learned here. For now, we're learning how best to pack for six weeks, what we need and what we think we need (but don't actually) :) More when we arrive in Colombia. 1 week away!
